Suitcase Exhibits
Educational kits are available for loan in the Tampa Bay area.
WHAT IS A SUITCASE EXHIBIT?
Suitcase exhibits are an educational tool recently developed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) and funded in part by a mini-grant from the Tampa Bay Estuary Program. The aim of this new program is to provide local students with information on Florida's marine resources and ongoing conservation efforts. Our suitcase exhibits are available to educators throughout the Tampa Bay region, in Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Manatee Counties. The materials in the exhibits are designed for students in grades four and above, although the exhibits have some materials useful for all grade levels.
WHAT CAN BE FOUND IN THE SUITCASE EXHIBITS?
The suitcase exhibits contain a wide variety of resources that can be used within your classroom curriculum. The contents include:
- brochures
- slide show
- photographs
- activities
- videos
- posters
WHAT EXHIBIT TOPICS ARE AVAILABLE?
The first suitcase exhibit available for use is the manatee suitcase. This exhibit includes manatee-related resources such as manatee videos, a slide show, brochures, activities for students, and more!
