Publication Production Office (PPO)

Scientists from FWC's Fish and Wildlife Research Institute produce documents for use by resource managers, interested citizens, and the scientific community. For these reports to be useful, they must be scientifically valid, technically correct, and clearly written.

Publication covers of Science, GIS World, Florida Marine Research Publications, Technical Reports and a 'Over 1,000 Manuscripts Published Since 1955' banner. The PPO staff has developed editorial procedures to ensure that documents written for in-house series and for outside serials are consistently reliable. They advise authors on proper publication style, format, grammar, usage, syntax, and punctuation. They produce graphics and artwork so that research results are more clearly explained.

They continue to improve our ability to generate digitized copy in-house; this in-house processing reduces the time and costs associated with printing and the distribution of timely information.
